A Time For Thanks And Generosity!

Happy Thanksgiving! I pray that you, your family and friends are safe and healthy and still have many things to be grateful for! This year has been challenging as we continue to social distance  and wear masks but I am grateful for the many ways we can still stay connected with each other.

We have had some needed rain so our islands are lush and green. Everything has opened back up and snowbirds and tourists are returning to enjoy our glorious weather and our island lifestyle. Masks and social distancing are required in all businesses.

Anyone entering the Virgin Islands is now required to present a portal confirmation email (www.usvitravelportal.com) and either a negative Covid-19 antigen test within 5 days of travel or a positive Covid-19 antibody test result received within 4 months of travel. Anyone who does not have this will have to take a test upon arrival at the airport or if a test is refused, have a mandated  14 day quarantine. Please help us keep you and our islands safe!

All beaches in the Virgin Islands are public by law and there is now beach access shuttle service at Botany Bay in St. Thomas. The shuttle runs 3 times daily at, 8:30am, noon, & 3:30pm.

Remember that the Virgin Islands are in the Atlantic Time Zone (AST) and we do not switch to daylight savings time. We are now 1 hour ahead of Eastern (EST), 2 hours ahead of Central (CST),  three hours ahead of Mountain (MST) & 4 hours ahead of Pacific (PST) so don’t forget to reset your watches and phones when you’re here.

Our picturesque islands are being recognized more and more for our beauty, ease of access (no passport required) and US amenities.

Travelzoo’s US members have chosen the US Virgin Islands as the Caribbean destination they would most like to visit in the next 2 years. Puerto Rico placed 5th on the list and the British Virgin Islands placed 9th.

Trip Advisor has rated Maho Bay on St. John as #18 on their Traveler’s Choice 2020 list of the top 25 beaches in the world.

American Airlines is increasing their flights to the Islands in response to strong travel demands from the Northeast, Midwest and South Central regions of the US. They have also added a morning flight from STT on some days so it is easier to make connecting flights to the states. All of the major airlines (except Southwest) offer flights here and there are a number of non-stop flights available from many major airports. Current ticket prices are very reasonable.

Our real estate market continues to pick up and we have many homes, condos and land to choose from. Interest rates remain very low and mortgage money is readily available. If you have been dreaming of a second home, retirement home or investment property in the islands, now is the time to make your dreams come true! Please call or email me if you have any questions or want to see what is available.

Also, please let me know when you’re coming! I’d love to get together for coffee or a visit and get to know you better, answer any questions, you have and share my love of island living with you! You can also connect with me on my website. (www.islanddreamsvi.com) and follow me on Facebook HERE.
